SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The Stanford Journal of International Law invites the submission of unsolicited manuscripts of articles, essays, book reviews, and comments at all times of the year.

Where to Submit

We are currently accepting submissions for the Summer 2007 issue.

Submissions should be sent electronically, along with an abstract and curriculum vitae, to submit@sjil.org.  Due to the high volume of submissions received, we are unable to provide responses to individual authors.  In general, we expect to notify successful authors within two months of submission.

What to Submit

  1. Manuscripts should be submitted in electronic format (Word 6.0 or higher preferred).
  2. Article submissions should include an abstract of not more than 250 words.
  3. Manuscripts should be typewritten, double-spaced, in no smaller than 12 point type face.
  4. Citations should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (18th ed. 2005).
  5. Extraordinarily long (200 pages or more, double-spaced) articles will generally not be considered.
